Cardmaker of the Year 2011 Lili Of The Valley Entry

I loved making this card. The colours are so fresh and the fairy image is a real cutie. The hearts are die cut using the Joy Crafts heart die. I also decorated the inside to match.

Cardmaker of the Year 2011 Penny Black Entries

Another 2 entries this time for the Penny Black category. Even bribing the judges with chocolate didn't work :-) The first one is an easel card with a little box of mini wrapped chocolate bars at the front. The second entry is probably my least favourite but it's a sweet image.

Another Cardmaker of the Year Entry

This was my second Joanna Sheen entry and this time I made a Calendar. Again using House Mouse Stamps and background papers from Precious Petals CD.

Cardmaker of the Year 2011 Entries

I submitted a few cards for this years competition but alas I didn't win anything. Never mind think I'll give up on card competitions and just make them for myself and no I'm not a bad looser LOL.
This card was for the Joanna Sheen category and used some House Mouse images and paper printed from the precious petals cd. I used two 6 x 6 card blanks to make a tri fold card. Once it wa made it was too bulky for an envelope so I made a matching box.

A couple of new cards

I'm crap at taking photos of my cards, have made quite a few commisions recently but haven't photographed them before giving the orders to people dooh. Anyhow these are a couple I did do!! Apologies the photography isn't great but I have made a studio thingy and it's a bit trial and error getting the lighting right.

This first card uses Nellies heart multi frame and some gorgeous Tilda papers. My friend was so pleased with it that she said it was too good for the couple she ordered it for, which made me smile.
This second card is made using the large bubble butterfly from woodware. It's too big to fit the whole butterfly on a 6x6 card so I stamped it off the card. I then randomly filled in the bubbles with gems, glitters and paints all in blues and greens.

Charity Cards

This is the collection of charity cards from my Craft Club. We made 123 between us - quite an acheivement for 12 members. You will also notice Lucy in the background who would not budge whilst I was trying to take the pictures lol.

A Selection Of Cards

I'm not very good when it comes to posting my cards but I've made a few recently which my Mum has asked me to upload so here goes.
This first card uses the Woodware Patch a House set and a paper pad I've had for a while.

The next card uses the Patch and Owl set again from Woodware. The papers came free with a magazine last year.
The third card uses the owl set but I've only used the flowes and a leaf stamp I've had for ages. The sentiment is from a Hobby Art set.

Next up is a card made using the Hobby Art Tuscany stamp set. I'm not very good with watercolours so decided to use Promarkers and was pretty pleased with the result.

Next up a couple of cuties. Love the pink and brown combo so had to use it with this Lili Of The Valley fairy stamp.
Finally I made this card at a class at The Glitter Pot.

Teenage Boys

A colleague at work asked me for some cards that would suit teenage boys. What a difficult group to make cards for!! Anyway this is what I came up with. The stamps are from Woodware on the first card and the stars are cut from my Cricut machine. The second card is a variation on a theme and again uses the Cricut cartridge George and basic shapes to cut out the stars. The stamp is a Docrafts sentiment.

Cuties

These next two cards are such cute images. Another clear stamp set this time from Kanban. They're quite easy to colour as I just drew a grey outline on the dog and used my trusty Promarkers.

A few cards to show

Made a few cards lately and these are some of the floral designs. This clear stamp set is from Hero Arts. The cards themselves are a simple design and I've finished them off with a Lili Of The Valley sentiment. Think I prefer the lemon one best??
Next up are 2 cards made using some Lavinia stamps, both greetings are again from the Lilli Of The Valley stamp set.
I've used a green and red versafine inkpad to stamp the poppies and black versafine for the dandelion heads below. The dandelion heads are an all time favourite of mine and I've made many variations of this card. Each time they fly out of my 'for sale' box of cards.

April Craft Club

We had a great night at Craft Club on Monday although no cards to show as yet as we made charity cards. Once I have sorted our little collection I'll post a pic at a later date. we also raised over £40 for Cancer Research. One of our past members died of cancer nearly two years ago so it's a cause close to our members hearts

I had to make this card for my brother-in-laws birthday this week and as he's a fisherman had to get this new stamp from Wild Rose Studio. The papers I've had for a while.

Second card this week is this paper pieced owl. I have three 6x6 Basic Grey paper pads which I'm ashamed to say I haven't touched even though I've had them for ages. They have such lovely papers in them so used one pad to make this card. The owl stamps are from Woodware and there are 2 owls and some branches and leaves on the sheet. How cute :-)

That's it for now.

March Craft Club

I don't know where the weeks have gone but they have flown by. Wont bore you with the details! Anyway here are the three cards we made at Craft Club in March.

This first one I designed with Mothers Day in mind. This tree is a huge wooden stamp. I rarely buy wooden now but fell in love with this one on a trip to the Glitter Pot. Coloured the image with a mixture of Promarkers and Copics and added some different sized gems.

This second card was made using peel off stickers from Woodware. I have also used a punch around the page Martha Stewart set.

Finally a spring card. For the background I have used 2 embossing folders and created a patchwork effect. The lambs are so easy to use as very little colouring needs to be done.
That's it for now, enjoy the weather if it's sunny near you :-)

Round & Round The Garden!

My neighbour gave me the idea for round cards and I already had the large round Go Kreate dies so I made the card blanks myself. The papers are all Doodlebug and the stamps are clear Hero Arts.

My second card for today is made using a stamp by Dimension Fourth, this is such a fun image and really easy to colour in with Copics or Promarkers.

Tuesday, 15 February 2011

I run a small Craft Club in our Church Vestry once a month and by popular request we made cards for men last night.
The first card is made using and old wood mounted stamp I've had for ages and it's coloured with Promarkers. The background is made by punching 2 sizes of circles from contrasting card and sticking them directly onto the card blank. I've used a black and white pen to draw some faux stitching.

This card is made using another wood mounted stamp that I've had for years. I've used Glossy Accents to make the doggies shiny and a herringbone embossing folder for the background.

Finally our last card for the night was made using a Little Claire peel off sticker which was again coloured using Promarkers.

Flower Soft Moments In Time Toppers

I normally like to stamp but fell in love with these toppers at Ally Pally last year. After sitting on the shelf since September I decided to have a play with them and really like the way these have turned out - hope you do too.
The flowers were made using a few scraps of card and the Marianne Design flower set dies. These dies are a bit fiddly but worth the effort, I've also added a gem in the centre of each one.
A little tip is to look out for cheap jewellery in Primark. The gems in the middle of the flowers are from a bracelet I bought there it had 4 rows of gems for £2 and once I took it apart I had tons of bling :-)

Patchwork Cards

I really enjoy making these cards. I have loads of 6 x 6 paper pads with co-ordinating papers and I love piecing together little patchwork backgrounds. I use a fine permanent pen to make the stitches and add a coloured character as the focal image.

My first ever challenge entry!!!

I've never entered any of the BLOG challenges before but had my box of Lili of the Valley die cut squares out so thought I'd enter their Romance challenge this week with this card.

It's been a long time!!

Well as it says in the title it's been a long time. Like so many other people I never seem to have the time to BLOG but I've been making a few new cards recently and thought I may as well share.

Had a lovely trip to The Glitter Pot with a friend last week and bought this lovely Echo Park paper which goes brilliantly with this Lili Of The Valley stamp. Image is coloured using a mixture of Promarkers and Copics.
